Allocation Analyst

The Allocation Analyst is responsible for keeping our stores stocked with the right mix of merchandise, in the right amount, at the right time to help the company operate most efficiently and achieve financial goals. The Allocation Analyst streamlines the flow of merchandise to stores through analysis, allocation, and replenishment.


  • Execute merchandise allocations incorporating seasonal strategies, weekly allocation targets, store inventory levels, demographics, store capacity, sell-through rates and buying quantities.
  • Facilitating the allocation and replenishment of a specific product category to all stores, using standard processes to maintain optimum stock levels at the distribution center and the retail stores.
  • Responsible for meeting with the buyers and reviewing reports to ensure stores have an appropriate mix of inventory.
  • Responsible for initial allocations of new product based on reports and communication with the buyers.
  • Completing all replenishments from inventory in the DC after analysis of reports.
  • Conduct analysis on a regular basis to ensure that appropriate styles and quantities are replenished to stores on a timely basis to maximize business and achieve margin.
  • Develop strong understanding of store specific and regional sales trends and performance through data analysis and open lines of communication.
  • Partner with the buying teams to determine distribution strategies based on analysis of current sales trend, inventory levels by store and past selling history to achieve optimal ownership.
  • Resolve any errors that prevent allocation.
  • Review store requests and address needs where appropriate. 


  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic with the ability to complete work on time with consistent attention to detail
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer skills in MS Office required (i.e. Proficiency with MS Word & Excel).
  • Strong analytical skills

  • The individual must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize them
  • Must be a results-oriented individual
  • Ability to gather and interpret data for various reports
